Facial Soft Tissue Injuries
Examples of soft tissue injuries to your face can include:
- Cuts and scrapes to your face.
- Torn skin or facial laceration that raises the risk of bleeding, infection, and scarring.
- Facial burns, either thermal or chemical.
- Eye injuries.
- Nerve damage can affect the sensation of your ability to smile, blink, move your eyes to focus, or

- Check for damage to your central nervous system, your brain and spinal cord.
- Ask you to describe your symptoms.
- Ask you for details about your facial injury and how it occurred.
- Check your face for asymmetry or damage.
- Gently palpate or press on the bones of your face to determine the extent of damage.
