FULL MOUTH DENTAL IMPLANTS NEW PORT RICHEY

Full mouth dental implants new port richey are recommended for patients who are missing all or nearly all of their teeth. Our office offers several treatment options for full mouth dental implants, including implanted-supported full bridge, implant-supported dentures, overdentures, and upper and lower arch replacement. For additional information about these procedures, please refer to the following overviews.

IMPLANT-SUPPORTED FULL BRIDGE

Our office offers several treatment options for full mouth dental implants, including Same Day Teeth® and All-on-4/All-on-6. Same Day Teeth® is an innovative surgical procedure that allows placement of your implants and new teeth to occur on the same day. This bar-supported, immediate-load, full-arch restoration is milled from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) using computer images and impressions of your bite and designed to color-match your remaining natural teeth, resulting in a seamlessly integrated smile that will restore the desired aesthetic and functionality of your natural bite, all in one visit.

Entire arches can also be replaced with the All-on-4/All-on-6 procedure. All-on-4/All-on-6 provides a full bridge replacement using as few as four or six dental implants that are strategically placed at an angle at the back of your jaw and around your dental arch. Once in place, a denture or bridge is attached, restoring the full function and appearance of a full arch of teeth.

OVERDENTURES

Overdentures are removable dental prostheses that rest on and cover remaining teeth and/or dental implants new port richey. The primary benefits of overdentures are that they redirect pressure and forces in the mouth, delay complete edentulism, and help preserve the alveolar bone. Overdentures are typically recommended for elderly patients who have lost some but not all of their teeth. In addition to preventing bone resorption, another benefit of overdentures is that, because the nerves in the root remain, the individual’s sensory aspect is significantly improved compared to traditional dentures.

IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURES

Patients with standard dentures often become frustrated at how much maintenance is required and find them to be inconvenient, unstable, and even painful. Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on your gums, implant-supported dentures new port richey fl are an overdenture held in place by strategically placed implants. Implant-supported dentures provide a superior level of stability and support, eliminate the need for denture adhesives, returns your ability to eat the foods you used to enjoy, and restores your bright, full smile. Implant-supported dentures are often recommended for patients missing all their teeth, but who still have enough jawbone to support an implant. If you do not have enough jawbone to support an implant supported denture, it may be necessary to have a bone graft procedure prior to placement of the dental implant. Implant-supported dentures can either be fixed or removable.

UPPER / LOWER ARCHES

Although there are several different approaches for replacing teeth in your upper and lower arches, the procedural steps will be similar. Before placement of the implant, it will be necessary to address any preexisting decay and periodontal disease. It may also be necessary to perform a dental bone graft if the jaw has begun to decay and can no longer support the implants. Once these issues have been addressed, we will complete a 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan, which will provide us with 3D images of your bone, nerve pathways, soft tissues, and teeth, allowing us to determine the optimal placement of your implants using the best digital assessment software and related state-of-the-art technology to ensure that your treatment is truly customized.. Prior to placing the implant, a local anesthetic is administered along with dental sedation. Once you are sufficiently numbed, our dental implant surgeon will surgically place the titanium implant or implants, after which the denture(s) can be placed, returning you back to your full, healthy smile and functionality of your natural bite.

CHOOSING WHAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU

In addition to maintaining a private practice, Dr. Michael A. Pikos also founded the Pikos Institute in 1990, a now globally recognized teaching organization that provides surgical and technology-based training for clinicians throughout the world to perform predictable, prosthetically driven implant dentistry. Dr. Philip J. Hedger currently teaches implant prosthodontics to dentists and dental specialists at the Pikos Institute. As leaders in the field of implant dentistry, we proudly offer consultations for patients interested in seeing if dental implants are a viable solution for them. This consultation includes a thorough examination by one of our implant specialists, a full 3D, high-resolution X-Ray of your jaw and bone structure to determine which type of implant is best suited to your unique needs and to ensure that you receive optimal dental implant placement. We will also provide a computer-generated image of what your implant and restoration will look like.
